It occurred to me that most people don’t do enough online shopping. It also occurred to me that there aren’t many places that can help you find great sale items at your favorite stores ONLINE. So I’m going to try my best to bring my readers some helpful shopping tips on how to get the most for your money when shopping on line for specific needs, such as College Dorm Room Decor! Let me know what you think in the comments. All month long I am going to try and devote one post per week to shopping for back to college savings……here’s hoping I can do it!

Let’s start with College Dorm Room Decor. I’ve found some great items, on sale, that can be found at Target, Kmart and WalMart. However, you’re not going to want to shop directly at their websites. What you will want to do is head over to ShopAtHome to get great cash rebates on all your shopping at each of these stores. ShopAtHome offers shoppers 5% cash rebates at Target, 5% cash rebates at Kmart and 3% cash rebates at WalMart. (As a side note, Big Crumbs has some higher percentages, but that website is a bit difficult, because you have to purchase within certain categories to get specific cash back percentages. It’s done in tiers and for the .6 percent more you could get at Target on just a few items, it really isn’t worth the headache of trying to make sure you stay within their categories).

Here’s what I’m going to do in this post. I’m going to share the links to the sale items I found that are great items for any dorm room, or a college kid’s room at home with Mom & Dad. Now these links are going to lead you to the product, which you can put in your cart to order. BUT, you have to remember to go to ShopAtHome, find the store, click on the store to shop and then check your cart once the store opens. The item should be in there, if not, just do a search for the product number, or name in order to add it to your cart. If there was an easier way to do this, I would gladly welcome any and all suggestions! This is a brand new kind of thing I’m going to be doing, so I want a lot of constructive feedback if you can provide some. As the weeks go by, it will be done much better, I’m sure. I will have different “themes” each month, so if you have a theme you want to see, let me know. For the rest of August it will be college items for room, class, etc. As I see great little sale items, or unique products, I’ll share them!

Say you purchased all of these products by shopping at Target through ShopAtHome, the total would be $126.48 (rebates are calculated on the total based on the product prices, not shipping or tax). Now, you are paying over $100.00, so you save the 10% on three of the four items PLUS you will earn 5% cash back from ShopAtHome. Not bad for purchases you will probably have to make for the college bound kids!

Great price at $9.00, compared to many of the hard plastic under bed storage products that can run you up to $49.00. Great alternative. Kids can keep clothes, sheets, blankets, shoes-anything they want in these. Save on shipping by choosing the Site to Store option.
