Cash Back Shopping: Buying Clearance for NEXT WINTER

I couldn’t resist doing a Cash Back Shopping installment this week. In most stores winter clothing is available to buy in the fall. So by January, the stores are ready to get everything out of their stores so they can start to prepare for the Spring clothing that will enter the shelves in just about a month, depending on the stores, some may already have the Spring stuff out now.

Old Navy is no exception. Right now they want to get rid of the winter stock they have, make room on those shelves for the Spring clothing coming into the store! Snow on the ground, doesn’t matter around these parts. Everything has to get out! So it’s CLEARANCE TIME.

For this little shopper, when they do it online it makes me even happier. Why? Because I can earn cash back from my go-to cash rebate site, ShopAtHome.com. They offer 8% cash back on all purchases you make at Old Navy. And we all know how much I love Old Navy. I cannot get enough of that store. Right now they’re having a HUGE clearance sale. Savings are up to 70% off in the clearance section online and in stores! Recently I purchases huge discounts for my son’s spring/summer wardrobe. It was items in the sale and clearance section that were on sale for 60% off last week. All of those items were from LAST Spring and Summer, so they were marked down BIG TIME and they were 60% off, plus there was some extras from ShopAtHome.com - like 10% cash back. So we scored, but it was slim pickings. I’m use to that. My kids happen to love Orange, so they make out pretty well because a lot of the stuff no one else wants, is Orange!

Well, this week, I’m heading to clearance to stock up for NEXT winter’s wardrobe while the clearance prices are so low. Plus, free shipping when you hit $50, which will happen because I truly stock up – pants, shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, snow pants, socks……EVERYTHING! And my son is still pretty little, so he’s not having any growth spurts that will cause the 3T stuff to be too small for him. So I can stock up, not worry about everything fitting in November when we start wearing the warmer clothing I’m buying this week!

The advice: SHOP CLEARANCE, SHOP through your favorite cash rebate site to earn money for shopping, get FREE SHIPPING and of course, tackle it with a plan – know what you’ll need for next winter and have a list. Stick to the list. However, if your kids are older and you aren’t able to figure out the sizing, this will not work for your kids. HOWEVER, it’ll work for your wardrobe! I just base it on the kids, because I don’t need any clothing anymore. Just the kids do.

If you don’t know about cash rebate sites, there are so many out there it’s crazy. Shopscotch, Mr. Rebates, Ebates, Extrabux……and the list goes on and on and on. My favorite one is ShopAtHome.com. It’s been my favorite for about a year now. The main reason I love them? They match cash rebates 110% from other sites. What does that mean? Well, if you see a cash rebate for the store you want to shop at, such as Old Navy, HIGHER than what ShopAtHome.com offers, they’ll not only match the cash rebate from the other site, but slap another 10% on top of it. SCORE!

I have to tell you, I have yet to be able to use this function, because honestly, ShopAtHome.com has the best cash rebate percentages at the stores I shop at! And don’t think I don’t check EVERY time I shop!

PS-When you order online, request that they use the least amount of plastic when shipping your items to you. There’s usually a spot where they allow you to give “additional information” about your delivery. It can’t hurt to ask for more eco-friendly packaging, right?
