Cash Back Shopping: Free Shipping
The answer to all of those emails asking me “how can it possibly be beneficial to shop online with cash back websites when you calculate shipping into the final cost”? is this: FREE SHIPPING. Do I always luck out and get free shipping, NOOOOOOOO. However, it’s always my first goal when cash back shopping! You know, beyond earning cash back, of course.
How can one accomplish getting free shipping? Sometimes it’s as easy as hitting a certain dollar amount for your order, like at Old Navy. When you hit $50, your shipping is free. Now, for me, this is easy to hit because I always bulk shop at the end of the season for my kids. I head to the clearance section, hit the sales items, use whatever coupon codes I’ve got and make that money STREEETCH. I do NOT buy just a couple of things when I clearance shop with Old Navy, it’s always me loading up on clothing for both kids that will work for them for an entire season from shirts, pants, bathing suits to PJs. The clothing is quality, it lasts forever and I love how the sizes work out for my kids. I hit the $50 mark, get free shipping and I’m earning 3% cash back in the process. Sure, yes, I have to pay for tax. But you have to pay tax at the store. I am saving money on gas, because I won’t have to drive to the store! Plus, it cuts down on my impulse purchases, because I’m not standing on line looking at all the cute stuff…….nor are my kids! Old Navy, a beautiful place for me and the kids!
Now, a store like Macy’s…..well, you can get Free Shipping Every Day with $99 purchase at Macys.com. I’m not a frequent shopper with Macy’s, but I’m sure hitting the $99 mark for certain items is not super hard. They always have really fantastic sales, clearance and tons of coupons floating around. Just wait for the big holidays when they have huge sales like President’s Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Labor Day Weekend and any other holidays they decide to do some kind of sale. Load up in the sale and clearance areas of the website, get to your $99 and all the while you’re earning 3% cash back, never leaving the house and using up gas. Just have to pay tax like you would at the actual store. Think about how much you’d spend when you walk into the store……..easily, you’re spending close to $99 because of the huge discounts you’re getting, you want to stock up on bras, underwear, some gifts for other people, etc. Timing is everything with sales and coupons, so it’s not different when you shop online! Think BIG PICTURE and always shoot for the free shipping while earning your 3% cash back at Macy’s.
On occasion, stores like Target, will offer free shipping on just specific products on their site. Right now, when you spend $50 or more on select movies, music and books you can get free shipping. There’s also one for Patio Furniture happening right now, too. Easter products, also. It’s just a matter of making sure you select the right stuff. And there’s plenty of items on sale to choose from that are part of the free shipping offer! I’m telling you, you can earn 4% cash back while getting free shipping and never leave your house! Getting paid to shop……PLUS, if you have the Target REDcard…..I mean, come on! You save 5% on top of everything else. KA-CHING.
