Review & I’m Giving One Away: My Memories Suite Scrapbooking Software
Who loves to scrapbook? I’m more of a photo book kind of gal, as I don’t have a lot of time to scrapbook. Glue, embellishments, cutting….not my thing. But I love to be able to create things on the computer, print it out and use it. It’s why I love photo books so much. I create those for EVERYTHING and EVERYONE.
When MyMemories.com came calling, I was a bit hesitant to accept, as I thought I’d have to do scrapbooking with paper, scissors, big old books and glue. When I went to their site to check it out, I was happily surprised. I truly didn’t realize you could “scrapbook” on a computer. No clue that there was digital scrabbooking software out there, in the world…..nor did I realize there was amazing software to make it that much easier. I immediately said “YES, I’d love to check it out and tell people what I think of your site. Oh, and you want me to offer a giveaway, OF COURSE”.
So here we are……..me, My Memories Suite Scrapbook software, and all of you.
Here’s the lowdown: I rather enjoy the software.
- It’s MAC and PC compatible. SCORE. As a MAC, I run into a lot of issues when it comes to software not being offered to me. This time, it was. And I TOOK IT! Super easy to order, download, create an icon for my desktop (or dock), and open up. Especially for me, who is not a scrapbooker by nature. The whole program is as easy to use as one of my photo book programs I do online.
- As soon as you open it up, it asks you if you want to create from a designer template, create your own from scratch or check out online options (which cost you money, unless you hit the free kits). When you create something, it also has a little browse button so you can open up your previously saved projects. You pick your template, start pulling in photos to use, embellishments can easily be added and you can type all kinds of text onto the pages.
- Everything is easy to navigate through at the top of your page. All icons, when you hover over them, tells you what it does – such as checking the album for spelling, putting in an embellishment, adding text, adding a link, adding video and even music.
- When you look on the left of the screen, you can see a ton of designs that you can purchase through the website. You can also see all the images you have downloaded for your project, along with embellishments, page layouts, and other information.
- On the right, you have a control panel. It will give you all the tools you’ll need to use to make that page FABULOUS.
- Easy to bring in photos, place them on the various pages, change around themes……the embellishments are quite nice. It seems to have everything you could imagine, including my favorite part – when you decide you want to preview what you have created, you can preview it as a slideshow, movie/DVD, photo album, calendar, greeting card or page-by-page (high resolution). So you can see it as more than just a scrapbook page.
- You can also share your creations on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and other social network sites. Easily!
- You can sign up to get a promo code to share with friends, family and your readers if you have a blog. The code saves them $10 and pays you for referring them! Right to your PayPal account. SWEET!
My only issue: You’re paying for the suite, so to me, there should be a wider selection of embellishments and templates.
However, they do have a section of free kits, along with dollar deals and discounted stuff. So it’s totally great to have a website offering great value, even after buying the software. It’s such an easy software program to use, yet has enough in it to charm even the more hardcore scrapbooking phenoms out there! Especially since you can put video and music in the pages. I’m impressed.
After having trouble figuring out the best way to save pages from the albums, they got back to me and explained what I needed to do. Great sign of a great company, customer service is always right there for you! All-in-all, it’s a great software program. Totally looking forward to putting together fantastic photo books with embellishments!
Of course, as I always love to do a giveaway for my readers, I accepted their offer to allow one of my fabulous readers the chance to get their very own My Memories Suite Scrapbook software!
