BIC Mark-it™ Permanent Marker: Decorating a Christmas Ornament

When a box arrives on our doorstep, the kids usually scream with delight. They don’t always know what’s in the box, but normally it’s something they get to “test out” or “sample” for Mommy’s blog. Neither of them care what my blog is about, or that their pictures are splattered all over the internet……they might when they are older, but that’s why I keep their names under wraps.

Little Miss and The Boy have learned to look at the labels on boxes, and when they see the Smiley360 label on the outside of a box, it usually means we’re going to be doing some kind of project, or sampling some kind of treat. What was in our box of goodies this time around? The BIC Mark-it Permanent Markers. Thirty-six of them to be exact. Plus, a Christmas Ornament to decorate! Glorious times for them.

After opening the box, we had other things to accomplish before we could tackle the markers. So it sat, for a few days, opened up, on our kitchen chair. Each day, Little Miss would peer into the box, and I’d tell her “over the weekend, when we have gotten through all this pile over here, first.” The other pile consisted of more “adult” things for me and the husband to test out. Foods they wouldn’t eat, or products they wouldn’t want to use. So she would look longingly at the box of markers……..

Thanksgiving came, and went, with lots of “goings on.” FINALLY, we got to do our craft. I would imagine people in Alaska could hear the squeals of delight that came out of my daughter! She wiggled with anticipation as I opened the markers up, and took the ornament out of the box. The squeals got louder when I showed her they put ORANGE ribbon in the box, her favorite color of all-time. I’m not sure it could get any better than markers, and orange ribbon.

The Boy? He casually sauntered over from the couch, casually took a marker, and waited for his turn to put his spin on the decorating of the ornament.

Both kids loved the markers. They did glide over the clear plastic with ease, and my favorite part? Suckers dried INSTANTLY. No smudging, and nothing on their hands, or clothing. Total WIN in my book. The colors are great, and I love how they feel in your hand. Very soft, and the caps STAY ON THE BACK OF THE MARKER. We started with this ornament, but I’m pretty sure each time we have to do a school project, my 36 BIC Mark-it Markers will be brought out! Lots of projects for my first grader, and my PreK-er. LOVE IT.

Disclaimer: I was provided with free samples of the product in order to write this post for all of you. Thanks goes out to Smiley360 for allowing me to participate in this mission. All thoughts, and opinions, are MINE!

Thank you! The kids had such fun. BIC should be loving kids embracing these markers – it is the best way to bond with mom!
