My definition of fashion heaven? POCKETS in my little black dress!

Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample for review purposes. The opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.

**Visual Note: As I write this post, I’m sitting in my desk chair wearing my little black dress. It’s the most comfortable piece of clothing I own……and I may never take it off again.

Who wants to feel pretty in their little black dress? I sure do. However, I have much more I require in a dress! Especially a “little black dress.” For those of you who don’t know me, I hate pocketbooks. I’ve never liked them. RELUCTANTLY have a couple of small ones for occasions that I have to “dress up” and there are no pockets in the “fancy” dress I’ve chosen for the special occasion. Such a pain in the royal backside.

eShakti making budget-friendly fashion

Lately, I’ve been noticing a fashion trend: pockets incorporated into dresses. There’s even ones found on the fashion show runways. eShakti understands the need for pockets in dresses. Even a little black dress WITH POCKETS. I fell in love at first site. The problem was, I found the dress after a bit of a torrid affair with a little green dress….

The “not so perfect” horrible green dress

My first attempt at finding a dress with eShakti didn’t work out. The dress arrived. It was so beautiful. I loved everything about it:

  • quality
  • color
  • design

It was just as beautiful in person, as on the website. You would never think it was such an inexpensive dress as the craftsmanship screamed expensive. However, the price tag shouted “totally budget-friendly.”

Then, I put it on. It wasn’t the right dress for my body. My Double D’s overpowered the whole thing, and I was devastated.

I cried. Mr. Sunflower suggested I “be honest with them, let them know, I’m sure they’ll understand.”

So I contacted them, thinking they’d tell me tough. Not the case! They were happy to have me send it back, and put through an order for another dress. Just like that. So easy to deal with. Even though the dress was customized for my measurements, they had no issues with taking it back, and telling me to choose another one. eShakti understands the value of taking care of customers When you take care of customers, you earn loyal customers!

Little black dress with pockets

Once I boxed up the green dress, back to their website I went. It’s when I found her. MY little black dress. It hadn’t been there the first time I went hunting, but man, I was beside myself with glee when I saw it there this time around. eShakti updates their website often. New stuff is added all the time, so I have learned to check often!

I ordered the little black dress, with my customized measurements, along with a little customizing on the length of it. I’m still young, so I like my dresses to fall ABOVE the knee. I kept the sleeves as they were in the original, because I liked the look. However, there were other options: long sleeve, cap sleeve and a few others. I anxiously awaited my Little Black Dress: dreaming of the pockets. Wondering what my kids would sneak into them when I wasn’t paying attention. I had a few occasions to wear the dress to, and I couldn’t wait to get it.

As I worked on my computer, my little ones came down to my office with a package. MY DRESS. I tore the bad boy open, and ran up to my bedroom to try it on. As soon as I slipped it on, I knew it was PERFECTION just from the feel of it. It looks super expensive, but the dress is under $60. You would never know it, because when you take it out of the box, it looks “rich.”

The color: deep, rich black. It’s 100% polyester material feels amazing, like you aren’t wearing anything. I know, you’re thinking “ICK, polyester.” However, it feels like it’s made from the most expensive materials, there’s no “synthetic” feeling to it.

Let’s put it this way, if I can slip on a dress, and it feels like I’m not wearing anything at all, it’s a winner. It just feels like a second skin, plus it has pockets. It’s the perfect cut for “my girls,” because they don’t overpower the dress. If they had this dress in every color of the rainbow, I’d buy every color (except pink, we know that just won’t happen in this lifetime).

As you can see, you can keep it simple, with a pair of flip flops. Or dress it up with a nice belt, and cute shoes. If you have a scarf, add a little color if you like. The dress is so versatile, and once I get a better bra….well, it’ll look even better with the girls in their “proper” place.
