Easter dinner debate happening in many households: lamb vs. ham

Easter dinner debate happening in many households right now: lamb vs. ham. Do we serve a lamb for Easter dinner, or do we go with the ham? Perhaps, we do both to make all guests happy? In our house, ham wasn’t an option. We always had lamb, and I’m happy to say, it’s my favorite, so it’s not really up for debate in our home! However, I’m all about providing my peeps out there with some options. Enjoy lamb, as well as ham recipes below.

Easter dinner debate happening in many households: lamb vs. ham

Growing up, there was never a question of what was going to be served at our Easter dinner at 2pm Easter Sunday. It was lamb. Once in a blue moon a ham showed up on the table, but not these days. Lamb all the way! No debate necessary. I know many out there enjoy BOTH meats, so I’m sharing some great recipes I’ve found online for lamb, as well as ham. Hope you enjoy them.

Lamb recipes for Easter Sunday dinner

Sometimes you need more than a standard roast, so there’s a couple of options BESIDES my favorite traditional lamb recipe.

Roast Leg of Lamb from AllRecipes.com fits me perfectly, because I’m a fairly simple girl when it comes to my lamb. I don’t like a lot of bells and whistles, because I completely love the taste of lamb. Garlic. Pepper. Salt. DELISH. It’s boring, sure, but simple is sometimes better when it comes to lamb.

For the more adventurous lamb lovers, wishing to change it up a bit for Easter, this Food & Wine recipe for Yogurt-Marinated Lamb Kebabs with Lemon Butter are unique, and grilling is great for a lighter meal.

Lamb is kind of a Greek delicacy, so they know what they’re doing when it comes to a leg of lamb, trust me. Food & Wine has a fantastic Greek-Style Leg of Lamb recipe that is perfection. Why I love it? I’m not a huge Rosemary fan, and most recipes for leg of lamb use Rosemary. Not this one. It’s Oregano. YUM.

Keeping it a bit more traditional, plus who doesn’t love garlic? This Food & Wine Garlic-Crusted Roast Rack of Lamb has the beloved Rosemary in it, but the garlic balances it nicely, so I’m a fan.

Ham recipes for Easter Sunday dinner

Instead of finding the traditional glazed, honey baked ham recipes, I thought a few unique ones might be what everyone needed this year. Jazz it up. Make this Easter celebration a little more memorable!

Tangerine-Glazed Easter Ham with Baby Carrots from Tyler Florence over at FoodNetwork.com is a nice “change of pace” for the boring ham most people have on Easter Sunday. It’s not often you get a citrus inspired glazed ham, just sayin’.

Ginger-Peach Glazed Ham is another unique one over on FoodNetwork.com. It’s from the Food Network Kitchen, so there’s no “famous chef” behind this one, but it certainly looks delicious. I’d totally try it, since I’m a huge fan of ginger!

Italians out there will LOVE the Pancetta-Wrapped Pork Roast recipe that Giada De Laurentiis has over on FoodNetwork.com – you know it’s perfect for any Italian Easter Sunday meal.
