When it comes to social media, Duane Reade just “gets it.” They understand the importance of communicating with their customers in real ways, and Twitter is one of the best ways to keep that communication active, and genuine. It was such a pleasure to help celebrate a huge milestone with #DuaneReade last week. Seriously, celebrating 1 million twitter followers calls for a party at Duane Reade in the Big Apple! We had 40 Wall Street hopping that night – social media-wise and good times-wise!

Any New Yorker will tell you Duane Reade is their place to go for all things pharmacy. It’s been that way for 50 years! However, now, it’s also their place to get a blow out, their eyebrows shaped, and their nails manicured. You want regular polish, go for it. You want Gel, go ahead and do it. It’s a one stop shop for what I call “icing on the cake” treatments. It’s not a cut and color for the hair, it’s a blow out for a big event after a work day (but you can get a cut if you like.) It’s not a full on make-up application, it’s a spot to make sure those hairy little beasts above your eyes are perfect and ready to be shown off. You may not be able to get a mani/pedi, but the manicure is a must when trying to impress. You can always wear closed toed shoes, my friends. It would look silly to show up at a party with gloves on your hands because you don’t want anyone seeing your jacked up nails!

Celebrating with Duane Reade, and #CBias is always a good time. Doing it at 40 Wall Street’s location, with great food, drinks, and amazing music? Beyond fun. It was very hard to get my hair, nails, and brows done, because I wanted to dance the entire night. It was amazing to meet people like Calvin Peters and his amazing team at Duane Reade.

Being a small part of such a huge event, and an amazing social media milestone, has been a blast. I’m honored it’s been with a brand I love, and have loved since my childhood. It’s amazing to see the new direction such an iconic store is taking, and it’s only getting better. I cannot wait to see what the next year will bring from this brand I love so much. Perhaps bringing all these fun hair, nail, and eyebrow goodies to Long Island stores……now that would be awesome sauce in a bottle!
