How to help your children feel their best when returning to school

Here are some tips for having children who look and feel fantastic when they return to school.

Schedule Dental Examinations for Your Children

Make sure to schedule dental examinations for your children during the holidays. A dentist will examine a child’s teeth to fill any cavities, but also, professionally clean their teeth. This will improve the appearance of your child’s teeth along with preventing cavities, gingivitis or halitosis. A good-looking smile helps a child feel better about him or herself!

If your child has any dental malocclusions, then you can also visit an orthodontist to learn more about braces.

New Clothing to Wear to School

You can give your children new clothing for the holidays. Many stores have special sales on children’s clothing at this time of year, so you can make sure your children have clothes that fit properly. Plus, many children want clothing in the most trending styles.

If your child must wear a uniform to school, then it’s time to buy new slacks, shirts and skirts to replace the old garments. It may also be time to replace some of those socks, and underwear!

Fun Hair Accessories

Take your child to a hair salon or a barbershop for a haircut. In addition, you can learn how to make hair bows to embellish a child’s hair. There are special machines you can use to make the perfect bows for a child’s hair in an assortment of styles and colors.

You and your child can make beautiful hair accessories to wear when school starts again after the holidays.

Professional Skin Care Treatments

If your child is having skin problems, take your son or daughter to a dermatologist for professional care. This physician can prescribe oral or topical medications to help eliminate blemish causing bacteria. Alternatively, when your child has dry and flaky skin, you can arrange a professional skin treatment with a moisturizing facial or body wrap.

Return to Healthy Eating Habits

While your child might eat numerous sugary treats leading up to Christmas and on Christmas day, you should return to a healthy diet plan as fast as possible. This includes serving numerous fresh vegetables and fruits throughout the day rather than having cookies or fudge. With a nutritious diet, your children will begin to feel less sluggish, which will increase their energy levels.

Last, you can help your children to feel better after the holiday school vacation by making sure they return to a regular sleeping schedule. While your children may have slept late in the morning while on a vacation, it’s important to adjust their circadian rhythms as fast as possible.
