Carbon neutral. What is it? According to Google, it means: making no net release of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, especially through offsetting emissions by planting trees. Have you ever considered if your website, or blog, was carbon neutral? Until a short time ago, I didn’t think about it.
I’m officially Carbon Neutral, are you?
Recently, a company approached me about “neutralizing” the carbon dioxide emissions of blogs across the internet. Apparently, blogs with 15,000 visits a month have a yearly carbon dioxide emissions of 8lb. (this is straight from kaufDA, a German based company.)
How do they help to solve the carbon emissions issue for bloggers? Pretty simple, actually. Just have to post about them, email them the link to your post and then they plant a tree for your blog. Simple right? They also request putting a button on your blog to help spread the word.
Basically, the concept is one tree absorbs 11 lbs. of carbon dioxide a year. Once planted, it sucks up all the emissions one blog with 15,000 followers creates (8 lbs.) Please, visit here for the more in depth explanation: HOW DOES IT WORK?
