One thing that’s sure to put a damper on your day is finding spiders in your home. Spiders are creepy-crawly pests often found lurking in dark corners, closets, and other areas of your home. Pest Control Tips to Keep Spiders Out of Your Home

Here are just a few pest control tips for keeping spiders out of your home.

Seal Gaps and Cracks

Spiders can enter your home through any small openings or cracks around windows and doors, so it’s important to make sure these areas are sealed off properly. You should also check for any gaps or cracks around vents or pipes that could provide an easy entrance into your home. If you find any openings, seal them up with caulk or weatherstripping as soon as possible. It may also be helpful to install door sweeps on all exterior doors to ensure they close tightly against the threshold and no gaps remain between the bottom of the door and the threshold.

Clean Regularly

One of the best ways to keep spiders out of the house is by regularly cleaning up clutter where they might hide. Vacuum carpets and furniture often, especially underneath furniture pieces where dust tends to accumulate over time. Be sure to wash bedding frequently so that any eggs laid by spiders will not hatch and result in more spider infestations down the line. And don’t forget about those high-up spots—dust ceiling fans and light fixtures regularly too!

Pest Control

If all else fails, there’s always pest control! Professional pest control services can help you get rid of existing spider populations in your home as well as set up preventive measures like insecticide treatments around entry points or insect growth regulators (IGRs) that disrupt spider reproduction cycles so new infestations won’t occur. However, only licensed professionals should safely and effectively treat your house.

No one likes finding spiders in their home! Simple preventative measures like:

  • sealing gaps around windows and doors
  • keeping clutter at bay
  • regular pest control treatments

can keep spiders out of your home and help protect you from bites from dangerous spider species (black widows, brown recluse). Keeping these tips in mind will keep you safe from these pesky pests for years to come!
