TerraCycle and Little Bites turning waste into useful plastic

We’re big snack lovers in this house. Honestly, we’re more about eating throughout the day than having big, sit down meals. Mostly, we don’t have time for sit down meals. My little sunflowers are busy kids, with tons of activities. Our snack love produces a lot of waste. Our Entenmann’s Little Bites® pouches are out of control. However, TerraCycle® helps us turn waste into useful plastic for free!

We’re all about the snacks

Listen, is it the best thing for every family? No. However, we’re all about the snacks. Entenmann’s Little Bites fit our lifestyle, since they’re easy to grab when we’re on-the-go. Plus, they fit into lunch bags, and are pre-portioned. Snacks aren’t the healthiest of healthy options, so when selecting them, I do my best to be good about portion control. Thankfully, one kid loves the blueberry muffins. Even though the other one loves the chocolate chip ones, at least NEITHER have high fructose corn syrup.

It’s works for us, however it pains me to have to throw out so many of those pouches. Luckily, there’s an alternative to just throwing them in the trash.

Turning waste into useful plastic

TerraCycle has teamed up with Entenmann’s Little Bites with a great Entenmann’s Little Bites Pouch Recyling Program. People can collect their pouches after eating Little Bites snacks, and use a pre-paid shipping label to send the waste to TerraCycle for processing. Sweet, right? Anyone can participate. It’s open to everyone and anyone interested can learn more about the recycle program.

Special program until April 30, 2018

TerraCycle and Entenmann’s Little Bites have teamed up to offer a bit of a reward when making the pledge to make eco-friendly choices a habit. If you collect pouches on behalf of a K-12 school, you’ll be placed in the running to win a Classroom Party. It’s super easy to participate:

  • Pledge: your pledge qualifies you for the contest
  • First Shipment: your first shipment earns 500 bonus points
  • Second Shipment: your second shipment earns 1,000 bonus points
  • TerraCycle Sweepstakes: K – 12 schools-only have the chance to win a Classroom Party as long as they pledge. The classroom party will include five cases of Entenmann’s Little Bites and 100 upcycled pencil cases. Check out the details and official rules for yourself: DETAILS AND RULES
