4 Snack Suggestions for a Hot Day

Beating the heat is never easy, especially when you live somewhere with particularly hot summers. With creative ways to enjoy snacks, however, you can look forward to a burst of flavor and a way to stay cool during the hotter days. Think about these four snack suggestions to enjoy as a regular part of your summer.

Frozen Fruit

One of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to have a snack during the summer: freeze fruit on the go. Berries and small fruits are the best for those on-the-go. Freeze some grapes, strawberries, blueberries or blackberries for your next outing and bring them with you. Similarly, you can also freeze orange and watermelon slices for a refreshing taste.

Ice Cream Toppings

Though ice cream during the summer is a regular and enjoyable part of the season, there are many ways to take the snack to the next level with the appropriate toppings. Crisp slices of fruit and splashes of juice can be absolutely transformative. However, playing around with esoteric ingredients can get the most interesting results. Tired of plain vanilla ice cream? Add some sea salt and olive oil to it for an exciting burst of flavor.

Frozen Yogurt

A fun recipe that you can have with your friends is a quick mix of yogurt and honey. Have a cup of Greek yogurt blended with two tablespoons of honey, and then divide the mixture into three bowls with a different combination of food colorings in each one. Once all ready, you can put the mixtures into different piping bags and pipe them into a tray before freezing for firmness. Have them on the go when they are ready!

Flavored Water

Making exciting new water flavor mixtures is always a delight. You can play around with classic ingredients like cucumber and mint and see what results you get. Some of the most popular flavored water mixes for the summer include cucumber, mint and pineapple. One of the best ways to entertain guests is to keep a variety of different combinations around to see what everyone’s favorites are. You may be surprised by some of the flavor pairings as well, so be sure to experiment plenty.

There are many other snack options available that can make a tremendous difference in how you enjoy the hot weather. Experiment with other flavor combinations and frozen fruits to see how you can change up your summer snacking routine for the better.
