7 Labor Day Desserts to make your mouth water
Desserts after a fantastic meal can only make the day that much sweeter. Fresh fruit, which will probably be the last of the cherries, and peaches, from your local Farmer’s Markets. Jam those fantastic fruits, along with many other goodies, right into your pie holes!
Fresh Peach Trifle Recipe from allrecipes.com
It’s an amazing dessert, but it requires a bit of work. Anytime a blender enters a recipe, it’s work. You know it’s going down when a blender is part of the process. However, it’s totally worth it and your guests will swoon!
Chocolate Cherry Layer Cake Recipe from TasteofHome.com
What’s more American than cherries? Most humans that walk the face of the Earth are down with chocolate. Chocolate Cherry Layer Cake is kind of a win-win situation for everyone on Labor Day. Plus, it’s sort of fitting with it being red. Who doesn’t love red when it comes to Labor Day?
American Flag Cheesecake Bars from MyRecipes.com
Cheesecake!!!!! If you don’t love cheesecake, there’s something wrong with you. Who can resist when they look like American Flags? Seriously. I would imagine these would go first at a party, especially with my family and friends around!
Red, White and Blue Ice Pops from MyRecipes.com
Listen, we all know summer officially ends later in September. However, when you think about Labor Day, you kind of just know it’s the signal to the end of summer. Although it is the end of summer, the heat is still on like Donkey Kong, and the kids are going to love some ice pops! It’s also nice to know what’s in the ice pop your kids are eating, right? Although, I’m not sure if I like the sports drink aspect of this one, but hey, once in a while isn’t going to hurt anyone, right?
Smoked Cherry Bombs from MyRecipes.com
We’re not big on the bogus cherries, so we’d replace these with actual fresh cherries. Other than that, this sounds like a fantastic treat. I would love to just eat the frozen phyllo dough, to be honest with you! Cherries are just an added treat, and it’ll make sure I don’t look bizarre chewing on all the phyllo dough.
Blueberry Cheesecake Galette from FoodNetwork.com
Get ready. This one is an all-in kind of experience. It’ll tie you up for a couple of hours, because of course, it’s LABOR intensive for your Labor Day celebration! Personally, I’d love to eat this, but I wouldn’t be all crazy in love with having to spend this much time dedicated to a dessert. It sure looks pretty though!
Sweet American Sponge Cake from JoyOfBaking.com
I LOVE lemon. I love America. I’m thinking this Sweet American Sponge Cake will be THE dessert for me on Labor Day. The video helps a lot, and even though it’s a time commitment for this recipe, I think it’ll be worth it.
I should NOT have read this while trying to lose the 12lbs I just gained on vacation.
Yeah, not a great idea, but hey. When you eat dessert during a holiday, the calories do not count!
Smoked Cherry bombs sounds amazing. I love cherry flavored anything!
Fresh Peach Trifle sounds amazing! I’ve been craving fruits like crazy, so that sounds pretty much like my ideal dessert right now.
Peaches are one of my favorites in desserts. Shhhh, don’t tell my list of desserts, but I love a great Peach Pie!
