When I say milk, you say…… chocolate chip cookies! Who used to have milk and cookies after a long day at school? Personally, I didn’t have milk because I don’t enjoy milk. BUUUUUT, I wasn’t saying no to some cookies. Not much heals your mind faster than a sweet (or salty) treat after school!
A favorite of mine? Chocolate chip. Now, in my house, before I learned to bake, the cookies were from a package. Now? I have some go-to favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes when I decide it’s time to bake from scratch.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes to Scratch Bake at Home
Maybe it’s my family’s heritage, or just the way our world worked back-in-the-day (before nutrition was spoken about so freely), but food was always a comfort. Having a crap day? Here’s a sweet treat, an ice cream or a snack, let’s sit and chat while we enjoy treats. It felt like magic when you bit into your chocolate chip treat, whether it was store-bought or freshly baked. MAGIC.
In this day-and-age, purchasing pre-packaged chocolate cookies is not only more expensive, but depending on the brand, you could end up eating a ton of garbage chemicals. Instead, bake them from scratch (it’s a lot easier than you would think).

If chocolate chip cookies aren’t your cookie of choice…. there’s plenty of other delicious cookies to choose from – sugar, butter, pecan sandies, or even gingersnaps! All cookie flavors are perfect regardless of the season. And, after a long day of dealing with nonsense, milk and cookies is the best medicine – just, you know, do it in moderation. Too much of a good thing ends up morphing into a bad thing – and if you find your cookie addiction is spiraling, it might be a sign you need someone to talk to – not treats.
