Hyatt Regency Rochester: an upscale hotel in ny

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored travel post

Looking to visit a gorgeous city outside of Manhattan? Head to an upscale hotel in NY right in the heart of the City of Rochester: Hyatt Regency Rochester. It’s situated along the Genesee River and happens to be the most upscale hotel in the Finger Lakes and Upstate New York. It’s also the tallest hotel in Rochester, which provides amazing views if you’re lucky enough to stay in a room on the river side of the hotel!

What makes the Hyatt Regency Rochester an upscale hotel in NY?

Personally, customer service is the difference between “eh” and “oh yeah” when a hotel comes to mind. Hyatt Regency Rochester gives me the “oh yeah” reaction when I’m asked about my time spent at the Hyatt. Amenities are one thing, but how the entire staff treats guests brings this Hyatt an upscale feel.

Hyatt Staff

Yup, it’s pretty inside. Sure it’s got an indoor pool. There’s a Starbucks in the hotel, too. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious and provide stunning views of the city. However, the staff – THE STAFF – is what makes this place great.

Any question you have, they answer happily. Checking in and out is a breeze. Handling shuttle service with the front desk is easy, and hassle-free. No matter where you are in the hotel, you know there’s Hyatt staff close by to help with anything you need help with. You worry about nothing.

That’s the UPSCALE kind of stuff everyone needs in a hotel.

Hyatt Amenities

Beyond the stellar staff, there’s amazing amenities. The only heated indoor pool with a sundeck in downtown Rochester. There’s a StayFit™ Fitness Center that’s open 24 hours, and overlooks the gorgeous pool. My favorite amenity? Parking. You get a discounted rate to park in the parking garage. Even better is valet service!

Shuttle service is also available. It’s free of charge. When you fly into Rochester International Airport and stay at Hyatt Regency Rochester, you won’t have to worry about getting to and from the airport. It’s a beautiful thing. Just make the arrangements before your flights.

Hyatt Location

The Hyatt Regency Rochester is located at 125 East Main Street, right in Downtown Rochester. You can walk to Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Pane Vino on the River and more great restaurants. Head to Blue Cross Arena to see a minor league baseball game, or a lacrosse game.

If you love music, you’ll love how close Eastman Theatre is to the hotel. I highly recommend attending a performance of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, especially if Ward Stare is conducting.

It’s also the perfect hotel if you plan on attending Fringe Festival, Lilac Festival or the Jazz Festival. All are within walking distance of the Hyatt and each festival is worth the trip to the City of Rochester for their own unique reasons.

If you’re traveling with the kids and want to visit The Strong Museum of Play, stay at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. One, every kid loves to swim in the indoor pool, and second, it’s close to the best museum ever built for kids and adults who are actually big kids at heart.

Hyatt Rooms

Comfortable bed. Clean room. No carpet, which I love. Fridge for my ten thousand water bottles, and caffeine fixes in the form of Mountain Dew and Coca-Cola. A little light that shines just enough light from under the bed, so you can see where you’re going in the early morning “gotta pee” hours. One of my favorite things is the little clock that appears on the mirror in the bathroom. What can I say? I’m a simple girl with simple tastes.

What would be even more awesome? If my room had a veranda of some kind…. the views from my window were spectacular though, so I can’t complain too much. Well, the bathroom drain could be cleaned out with a little more care. Other than that, the room and bathroom were spotless.

Hyatt Dining

Morton’s, The Steakhouse is located right in the hotel. You don’t have to step one foot out the door. What more does a hotel guest need beyond a great steak place? Perhaps you’re interested in breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel, but aren’t a huge steak lover? No problem. There’s The Street Craft Kitchen and Bar. Great menu and cocktails.

Having a little get-together with a few friends, and want a casual place to hang out? No worries. Head to Center City Terrace and Lounge. Food, drinks, and fire pits on the terrace. You’ll find no friendlier bar staff, or wait staff, in the entire hotel.

Happy guests are the Hyatt Regency Rochester’s goal and they deliver.
