There is nothing more exciting for a child than hosting their own birthday party. They get to invite their friends into their space, where they can entertain them with games and activities, fill them with yummy treats and give them a memorable experience to take home.
Throwing an Unforgettable Kids Birthday Party
What are some of the ingredients you can add to a regular birthday party to give it extra pizazz? What can you do to bring it from ordinary to extraordinary? It doesn’t take much to create a memorable experience for kids. Here are just a few tips for throwing an unforgettable kids birthday party:
Sending the Sweets Home
Setting up a table where invited guests can fill a bag with candy to take home checks off a few things on your list.
- First, you send kids home happy
- Second, you avoid an expensive and messy cake
- Third, you avoid having to deal with kids pumped up on sugar
Believe me, you’ll be the talk of the town with the kids.
Create an At-Home Spa
There’s nothing better than indulging in a relaxing spa treatment. Creating an at-home spa is a memorable birthday party. Kids can get their nails done and have a facial mask treatment as they enjoy sparkling apple cider in fancy glasses. Send them home with more polish to touch up their nails and another mask treatment so they can enjoy the experience all over again.
Beach Day Fun
You may not be anywhere near a beach, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring the beach to your party. Spend the day outside in the sun, either poolside or with water guns or water balloons. Beach themed favors can include:
- sun hats
- sun glasses
- flip flops
Virgin pina coladas or virgin strawberry daiquiris are the perfect beverage to complete your unforgettable beach day party.
Chef at Home
Kids love being in the middle of the action, so when it comes to food why not let them act the part of chef? You may have to do the cutting and cooking or baking, but letting them put together their own creations is exciting for them. Have a pizza creation station, where all of the ingredients are laid out for them to choose from. Then for dessert, an ice cream sundae bar or make your own cupcake table will have them making lasting memories.
Much like creating their own food, having kids create their own take-home gifts is a great way for them to show off their work and have a memorable keepsake from the birthday party. The dollar store is a great spot to hit up for supplies. Depending on the theme of the party, you can create a craft using the same idea. For our fairy themed birthday, we gave each child a jar, glitter and a string of twinkle lights from the dollar store. It was an inexpensive craft, but each kid left with a keepsake they could keep on their night table.
Navigate Some Obstacles
When we were thinking of a unique and memorable birthday party to create, immediately we thought of recreating an obstacle course tv show! A lot of kids are going crazy for them. Simply by using things from around the house and the natural layout of your backyard, you can create a fun and challenging obstacle course for kids to run out their energy. Then, send them all home with a sweatband, customized with their name or a snapshot of them crossing the finish line!
Creating a fun and memorable kids birthday party just takes a little bit of ingenuity. It doesn’t take a lot of money to think of plenty of unique ideas. For the most part, you can either use things you already have or find them at the dollar store. Get your creativity flowing and let your ideas flourish, and you’ll have no problem in hosting a great party that will be remembered and talked about for some time.
