For many people and families, taking an expensive or time-consuming vacation is simply not an option. Just because you have time off doesn’t mean you should throw yourself into an ordeal. Therefore, we now have the “staycation”.
Plan Your Unforgettable Staycation
Here are a few examples of what a proper unforgettable staycation, also known as a vacation at home, looks like.
Be a Tourist in Your Own Town
Even if you’ve been where you live for a while, there might still be interesting activities close to you to check out. Think of the same types of places you’d visit if you were vacationing somewhere else: museums, amusement parks, historic parts of town. Check online to see if any exciting events are coming up. With a staycation, you’ve already arrived at your destination.
Stargazing
This one can be as simple or complicated as you’d like. The stars are open for everyone to see, although it won’t be as easy to view them in some places. Highly-congested areas like sizable cities pump out enough light pollution to impact your view of the night sky. In more rural areas, the sky can seem absolutely littered with stars. You can just use your eyes, or you can use a telescope, but no matter how clearly you can see them, the stars are always captivating.
Bring the Party Home
If you’re the partying type, host your friends and family during your staycation. Turning your backyard into an outdoor kitchen is an unforgettable way to cook and make memories, and usually offers enough space so that you can accommodate enough people. A nice open plan makes hosting a large number of people easy, and you’re bound to make unforgettable memories in no time.
Spa Day
Treat yourself. Book a relaxing spa day and enjoy every blissful moment. A good spa treat works wonders for the body, improving mental health, blood pressure, sleep quality, and your immune system. Periodically taking spa days is even associated with fewer sick days at work.
If there’s ever been a time when you thought of something you’d love to do, but didn’t have the time for it, then a staycation is perfect for you. But don’t forget, it’s fine to keep things simple as well. You don’t even have to leave the house. Instead of a fancy restaurant, have food delivered. Keep yourself and your loved ones the center of your attention, and enjoy.
