How to Fold a Burrito
One of the things I hear most often about making burritos at home: I can’t seem to fold a burrito like they at my favorite take-out spot. I mean, sure. People in the restaurant world are folding tight burritos all day long. They’re professionals. However, once you know the right steps to take, folding a burrito is a lot easier than you’d think.
Here’s how you can fold a burrito in your own kitchen:
- Step 1: Make sure you start with a warm tortilla!
- Step 2: Place your fillings in the center of the tortilla.
- Step 3: Fold the sides of the tortilla over the fillings.
- Step 4: Roll the tortilla, and tuck it tightly around the filling after the first roll.
- Step 5: Now, keep rolling and continue to tuck the tortilla tightly.
- Step 6: Put the tortilla on a plate, and eat. If you’re more civilized than I am, you can cut the burrito in half. If not, just dig in!

I love cooking in-bulk. Burritos, especially loaded ones. Thankfully, they’re easy to reheat and with fresh condiments, it’s absolute perfection and a go-to comfort food for me. If you’re really feeling adventurous, start off with some nachos and make your own guacamole to use on everything.
