Mornings in my home can be hectic. Depends on what time the kids finally get up in the morning. Finding things for them to eat for breakfast, well, it’s not easy for some of us! Breakfast is my least favorite meal of the day. I hate eating first thing when I get up and apparently, my daughter has developed this wonderful trait along with me. My son, though, could eat from the moment his eyes open in the morning to the moment they close at night. I figured he’d be the “test case” for the new Entenmann’s Pancake Pockets!

Entenmann’s Pancake Pockets

Pancake Pockets come in three flavors: Strawberry, Chocolate and Maple. This new item is only available in the New York Metro area right now! Our local store offered all three flavors. Knowing my son, I chose chocolate.

The Boy had to share with me after popping this bad boy in the microwave to heat it up! My daughter, forever the boring and in the “won’t try anything new” phase of her life, stared at them. However, stuck to her guns and didn’t even try them. She just watched me, and her brother, gobble it down! Needless to say, they aren’t gourmet. Also, they aren’t the most healthy thing you can choose, but they do have 5 grams of whole grains (at least it says so on the box.) It’s a nice chocolate treat to start off the day, or to snack on in the middle of the day. Hell, perhaps end your day with a nice cup of hot chocolate, and a pancake pocket. Whatever blows your hair back, my friends.

I’m not a big pancake lover, however, these are moist and the chocolate tastes like they jammed a big cup full of hot chocolate into the middle of the pancake. What I liked the most: after microwaving for 10 seconds, and letting it sit for just a second, since my son is impatient, it wasn’t too hot to touch. The chocolate inside didn’t burn my tongue. It came out warm, moist and chocolaty.

The only problem I have: packaging is hard to open. But now that I know it isn’t going to burn me, I can be a bit more aggressive while opening! Problem solved.
