Disclosure: Summer has a new flavor over at Carvel. Carvel was gracious enough to send me a couple of gift cards in order to purchase this brand new Nutella® flavor.
All opinions are my own, as always! Thanks for checking me out today.
It’s true. I’m a caramel lover. We all know how much I adore the Salted Caramel Carvel introduced back in the Spring. However, I’m not someone that misses the chance to check out a new ice cream flavor. When I found out summer has a new flavor over at Carvel, you know this Sunflower had to check it out with the family! It did NOT disappoint.
If you don’t know what Nutella® is …. well, honestly, I’d wonder where the hell you’ve been the past few years. How can you not know it’s an amazingly awesome hazelnut spread with a hint of cocoa? Seriously? Have you been sleeping the past few years? If that’s the case, head to your local grocery store and pick up some, you’ll thank me later.
Summer has a new flavor
Now, back to business: Carvel’s Nutella® ice cream. It’s here for the summer, and it’ll be hanging around until September 30th. My personal favorite is the soft-serve. In all honesty, it’s what Carvel is all about. When someone thinks about Carvel, soft-serve pops into her head. However, I do realize many people like other types of ice cream, so it’s nice that the limited summer treat comes a few ways:
- Hand-Scooped chocolate ice cream LAYERED with Nutella® hazelnut spread and Carvel Crunchies, topped with Nutella®
- Soft-Serve made with Nutella®
- Sundae Dasher with Banana, layers of Nutella®, Carvel Crunchies and topped with not just whipped cream, but also a little more Nutella®
- Sundae Dasher with Chocolate Crunchies, layers of soft-serve Nutella® ice cream and bananas, finished off with whipped cream and you guessed it, Nutella®
Our family went for soft-serve and LOVED IT. It really tastes like Nutella®, but without the texture of the hazelnut spread. Just pure, creamy ice cream. It was really weird at first, because normally you slap that stuff on something like toast. Now? I prefer the ice cream. I’ll be going back on July 20th, which is National Ice Cream Day, so I can order me up a LARGER cup of the limited summer flavor.
