Honestly, I’m not a Halloween lover. It’s my least favorite holiday, right there with Valentine’s Day. However, when it comes to celebrating with the kids, they love Halloween and so Mommy has to put her big girl panties on and join in. What does a mother with a healthy anti-Halloween mind do to make Halloween work for everyone involved? She turns to a handbook. Not just any handbook, though. I choose the All You Frightfully Fun Halloween Handbook. Simply put, it’s the handbook for the Halloween “dummies” of the world. It’s packed with Halloween craft ideas, costume ideas, recipes, and each idea has actual instructions!!!! Plus, templates to help even the most inept families make amazing Halloween memories!
I joke. I kid. Well, not about not liking Halloween, or the fact that the handbook does exist. However, it’s really not just a handbook for people like me who aren’t big fans of the holiday. It’s got the most amazing ideas that even the most “seasoned” Halloween celebrators will benefit from. The recipes alone are worth getting this handbook. The handbook has “themed-out” the party ideas, and chosen recipes, and ideas to bring the party to the next level. It’s got ideas for creating amazing pumpkins, and how to decorate your house. It’s got really fantastic sweet treat recipes, and of course, cupcakes are included!
Quite possibly my favorite aspect of this handbook is the ideas for costumes. There’s instructions to create the costumes yourself, and how can you not love the thought of putting together a family-themed costume experience? The idea in the book is adorable: CIRCUS. I’m a food lover, and I loved all the recipes, but seriously, how cool is making costumes for the kids, or for the entire family? It’s got robots, monsters, and even a book of spells costume. WHAT?!!! I nearly died when I saw that book of spells. So simple, yet beyond cool!
