Desktop Plaque

Every day my son asks me “is there any mail for me?” Each day, it’s normally a no. Sure, he gets some cards mailed to him around his birthday in November, one or two cards in the mail in December for Christmas. My mother also sends the kids cards for Thanksgiving, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and of course, Valentine’s Day!

I’m not sure what it is about the Valentine’s Day cards, but they just love to see all the hearts, and red, and pink, that normally surround all the cards for them at that time of the year. Both kids love February when it rolls around, they get Winter Break for a week, and of course, right before that, it’s red envelopes arriving in the mailbox from Nana with their Valentine’s Day cards. Normally filled with stickers.

My mother lives in the next town over, and we see my parents almost every weekend…..but the kids love to get mail in the mailbox, and Mom never disappoints them with cards at just the right times of the year.

Personally, I like to give the kids cards that I personalize over at my favorite photo sharing site! Every year they add more, and more new styles, and designs to their Valentine’s Card selection! The best part? I can get cards for their kids in the class for the special day, and they can be personalized! So much better than the generic crap you find in the dollar store! WOOHOO. However, I also have to do something for the husband. Since I’m usually on Shutterfly.com anyway, I normally head over to the Photo Gifts section of the site. Scope out what’s happening on that side of the tracks. I’m hoping for our anniversary I can find the best image of us for a wall mounted piece, but for this Valentine’s Day, I’m going with the Desktop Plaque. Mainly because I’m scoring one for no cost.
