Long Island has been graced with Häagen-Dazs Shop locations at local Suffolk, and Nassau County malls. Broadway Mall in Hicksville is finally able to say they’ve got one, too! As a way to celebrate, the first 500 customers will be able to score one free scoop of ice cream! Plus, everyone that visits the ice cream shop on Grand Opening Day, Saturday, August 13th, will be able to enter to win free ice cream for an entire year from the Broadway Mall shop*. Say what? Say ICE CREAM.

What makes Häagen-Dazs ice cream unique

You might be thinking “so what? It’s just ice cream. I can get that at plenty of places.” I guess you can think of it that way, but Haagen-Dazs has been around for over 50 years, and there’s a reason! They’ve got a true desire to create delicious flavors, with the finest ingredients. Plus, Häagen-Dazs has a creamy texture that makes a mouth happy.

Crazy to think, over 50 years ago, the brand started with just three flavors: vanilla, chocolate and coffee. It wasn’t until 1966 that Reuben Mattus, the creator of Häagen-Dazs, found the perfect strawberries so he could add my favorite flavor, Strawberry.

Reuben’s daughter opened up the first Häagen-Dazs shop in Brooklyn Heights, and it still stands today on Montague Street. You know, without a doubt, when an ice cream shop opened in 1976 is still open, there’s something special about the ice cream. Especially these days!

How has Häagen-Dazs stepped it up in 2016

Häagen-Dazs has staying power, because it understands how to keep up with the times. This year, they’ve started to remove GMO ingredients from their products. Right now, flavors made with no GMO ingredients include vanilla, vanilla bean, strawberry, rum raisin, chocolate chocolate chip, pineapple coconut, coffee, chocolate and chocolate peanut butter.

It’s the goal of Häagen-Dazs to remove all GMO ingredients from every flavor! They know it’s important to their customers, which makes it a priority for the company.

Now, to the most important information everyone on Long Island needs to know! Where, and when, is this new shop opening?

Where and when is the Häagen-Dazs grand opening at Broadway Mall

The Häagen-Dazs shop is, of course, at the Broadway Mall. The exact location is 358B Broadway Mall, Hicksville, New York. The festivities start at 10 in the morning on Saturday, and will continue all day until 9 at night. Remember, the first 500 customers get a free scoop of ice cream, but everyone who attends the grand opening will have the chance to win free ice cream for a year.

Come out to Broadway Mall! Be one of the first 500, score your free scoop. Don’t forget to enter to try to win free ice cream for a year from Broadway Mall, too. It’s summer, it’s hot, and ice cream this good has to be shared with friends. Bring some with you, and have a little Strawberry for me!

Each Häagen-Dazs Shop is independently owned, and operated, under a franchise agreement granted by The Häagen-Dazs Shoppe Company, Inc.
