It’s all about #GettingGorgeous in NYC

Disclaimer: If you don’t have a sense of humor, move to another blog post I’ve written. Getting Gorgeous is an event where people get to mix, mingle, and enjoy some amazing brands. We don’t get paid to be at the event, we just get invited to it. There’s no compensation, but we get to experience some pampering, and a couple of free samples from brands like Tide, and Dial.

Here’s the honest, too goodness, truth: my excitement about Getting Gorgeous wasn’t so much about the event itself, but the fact that I was getting to hang with my friend, Dusty from As Mom Sees It. Yes, being invited is a real treat. Sure, I’m honored to have gotten in. Honestly, I hadn’t really felt the urge to attend until I knew my buddy was going. We don’t get to actually see each other all that often. She’s in Ohio…….and I’m in New York.

Let’s be honest, there’s not much happening in Ohio to pull me to head there. It’s a long drive, and my car would never make it. I hate flying, and I love my girl Dusty, but I don’t LLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOVE her. Make sense? So when she comes to New York, I make sure to be able to get into NYC to “play.”

And did we play!!!!!!!!!!!! It all started at the New Balance area of the room. We stumbled upon a photo booth, along with the nicest looking people ever created for this planet we call Earth. I was hoping the photo booth photo booth photo would come out and I’d look as attractive as the owners of the Photo Booth……well, it didn’t happen, but hey, we had fun anyway!

Getting Gorgeous Photo Booth

Of course, Miss Dusty has all my crazy shots she took of me! But hey, I’ve got one from my encounter with the Elvis cutout at Coolibar, and of course, my favorite man of the hour, Johnny from PhotoBoothPopUp, who looked like Elvis……and he was such a good sport. Dusty has a couple of great shots of us, but this one was taken with my camera……ENJOY the eye candy gals!!! Now, we had more fun with photos with my two Elvis’s. You have to check out our “prom” photo Dusty took. It’s totally worth it, even if it’s a little blurry……we hadn’t even started our cocktails yet –> Prom Night with Elvis TIMES TWO

Getting Gorgeous with Elvis

CVS really had a great layout, where everyone could get their hair done, have some make up done, and a pedicure. It was great to be pampered……at least by all the other ladies. For me? I had all the pampering I needed from Bacardi. They have new drinks out in stores that are just 95 calories each. I went for Strawberry Daiquiri. My friend had some Pina Colada, and of course, the Mojito. Dusty captured my extreme love for the sugar rim…….totally captured my inner soul. For that shot, you’ll have to head to this link right here –> Bacardi Sugar Rim LOVE.

Getting Gorgeous Bacardi

The event was FUN. Bloggers had FUN. No one was hurt in the process of us taking these fantastic photos, or while we were having FUN. #GettingGorgeous is about enjoying a day, with friends, and amazing brands who love us bloggers, and want to work with us. Life’s too short to take yourself too seriously, so laugh, have fun, and ENJOY the moments you’re given!

Of course I’m blushing, it’s Elvis and a man that looks like Elvis. I’m lucky I didn’t faint! LOL!!!!

So much fun hanging out with you… and we barely got in any trouble! I don’t blame you for not wanting to come to OH. Not much here, but I’ll be glad to visit NY anytime :-)

Well there is that park there, Cedar Point? I wish I could go to the blog event they’re doing in the area. But no blog events for me this year. Money isn’t flowing in these parts!
